Childrens Play

Today I caught my children and Dill playing a strange game. They were playing by the Radley’s house. I asked Jem if it had anything to do with Boo Radley. She told me no. I have a feeling he is lying to me. Their fascination with Boo Radley is amazing to me. Don’t get me wrong; he is a very mysterious person. I just think they should leave him alone though and leave him be, and let him live his life the way he wants.

Teaching to lie

After my daughter Scout came home from school today, I followed her outside to check on her. When I asked her all she said was that she was not feeling well. She also told me that she didn’t want to go to school and suggested that she could teach herself. However, I told her that this idea would not work because law requires one to attend school. To make her feel better though I promised her that I would keep reading to her, as long as she didn’t tell her teacher, Miss Caroline. This would mean I would be teaching my daughter to lie. This is not what you would want to teach your children but I knew it wasn’t right for her teacher to tell her she could not learn outside of school. Learning in school is great, but I know the best lessons learned are in the outside world.

My dislike for the law

Today I had a client who had allegedly killed someone. He did this in the presence of 3 witnesses. This was probably not a god idea. Instead of just pleading guilty, he decides to plead not guilty to first-degree murder or anything. This made is so I can do nothing for his client except being there for when he is convicted and taking away. This is most likely where my great distaste in the world of crime and criminal law began.
