Safety Scare
Today was not a good day but justice was finally served. Bob Ewell attacked my children as they walked home from school. He hurt my son Jem. He broke his arm and knocked him unconscious. Luckily for us, Boo Radley was there to save him. He fought Bob and saved him. He carried Jem back to our house and Scout ran after them. I was also happy to hear later that day that justices were finally served. Bob Ewell was found with a kitchen knife in his neck. This may sound wrong but he deserved it for raping his daughter and getting a innocent man killed for it.
Tom is Dead!!!
Today I found out that Tom Robinson is dead. He was shot 17 times. Founding this out was extremely hard, but telling his family was even harder. It was hard to see an innocent man die for something he did not do. He died because of the color of his skin and this was not okay. Someone should not be judged by what they look like but how they act and how they treat other people. Today is not a good day, and I will never feel good until justice is served.
Guilty!
The verdict is in and it is not what we expected. As the jury sees it, my client, Tom Robinson is guilty. Even though we know he didn’t do it, we have to deal with the fact that he was only guilty because of the color of his skin. This was not right and a man like Tom Robinson did not deserve this. But I happy I did everything I could even though it was not enough to save an innocent man.
Awaiting Jury's Verdict
Right now I am sitting with Tom Robinson waiting for the jury to come back with the verdict. I am confident but not at the same time. I feel that we won the case. I proved that Tom could not in fact hurt Mayella in the way she testified because of his physical handicap. This was good because it showed that Mayella was lying about Tom. This made it look promising that we were going to come out of this like we should. With Tom Robinson being innocent.
Before Trial Confidence
I am just about to leave for my defendant, Tom Robinson’s trial. He is an innocent man but is doubted because of his skin color. There is in fact, not a chance that he raped and beat Mayella. I am going to show the prosecutor the facts that back this up. I am also going o question Mayella and her father Bob. Who in fact, I believe raped Mayella. The questions I ask them are going to question their story and show that Tom did not do anything and is innocent. I am confident that we will win this one.
Close Call
Last night I went to the Maycomb county jail to meet tom Robinson since he was moved in town for the court case. He was a black man all right in the corner of his cell. His massive body filed up the whole cell as he spoke to me. I had been sitting outside when Walter Cunningham Sr. came with his friends. It seemed they had wanted to kill Tom, but I was not nervous, that I knew that they had been coming and I had a man hiding at gunpoint to shoot at anytime I seem to need help. But that man was not needed when all of the sudden my precious little scout came out of nowhere with Jem and dill. Scout talked to the men as if they were friends of hers, and they seemed to have felt bad for the little girl. I am guessing that it is her cuteness that wore the men off because within a few minutes they were gone. That one was close. I hope nothing bad happens to Tom Robinson in the future.
Defending the Hated
I was chosen to defend a man by the name of Tom Robinson. He is a black man who has been accused with beating and raping Mayella Ewell. This will be no easy task defending a black man in a racist, white dominated community. Though hard, I must try my best because it is my job. Also I believe that this man has done nothing wrong but worked and was a good person by helping out a lonely women by doing some work.
